£25,000 - £30,000
I am looking for someone with at least 2 years purchasing experience to join my client in Basildon. As well as procurement experience, this position requires someone with strong negotiation and analytical skills as well as experience of working with spreadsheets.
This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring J.I.T delivery of stock materials to business requirements in addition to sourcing and placing non stock orders. You will also be responsible for achieving lean stock control through efficient order management process and expediting whilst working with suppliers to achieve cost savings, improve lead times and other key deliverables.
Duties will include:
Monitoring supplier performance and provide regular feedback
Complete analysis on usage / spend / forecast data to support purchasing activity
Complete supplier tendering process and appraisal where relevant
Sourcing items from either approved or new suppliers where needed
Working with engineering and factory management to identify cost reduction opportunities and areas of waste
Applicants who are part or full CIPS qualified are preferred, although this is not essential. You must however be goal orientated and actively able to seek alternative solutions.
