Full Description:
Medium Sized Freight Forwarder, based in Basildon Essex, requires an experienced Import Clerk to work on the deepsea / ocean freight desk, to co-ordinate both LCL and FCL imports into various UK ports and distribute throughout the UK.

Role ideally requires operational experience of LCL and FCL imports from Far East and North America, handling all aspects of imports from start to finish.

You will be processing bookings, container arrivals by liaising with various shipping lines, arranging releases, customs clearing cargo, booking in deliveries, check freight charges applicable, answering all incoming queries, preparing quotations and charging out files. Commercial awareness preferred also.

Our client is looking for Import Clerk to come from a Freight Forwarding background, not the shipping line industry and have knowledge of both LCL and FCL imports.

Salary 18-22k depending on level of experience and knowledge..
