This is a permanent full time position based in Rayleigh with an established and successful Engineering company. The position requires someone with an engineering background who ideally has an understanding of sub contract markets and holds the relevant qualifications.
As Buyer your duties will include:
• Dealing with sub contractors, reporting to clients and to management and producing detailed information
• Reviewing current and new vendors for improved terms and conditions, including consignment stock and discounts
• Reviewing the company’s purchasing activity and making recommendations on purchasing inventory
• Liaising with the Engineering Department on any major holding factors and ensuring the best resolution possible is achieved
The ideal candidate will have previous buying / purchasing experience, excellent negotiation skills, strong communication skills and a professional attitude. You will be responsible for ensuring the best possible delivery date is met, that the correct certification is requested for each purchase order and for managing any invoice queries to an appropriate and timely conclusion.
