    We have a new and exciting opportunity to join our expanding international client based from their Chelmsford office as a Banking&Payments officer.

    The role: Recording and administering reciepts from clients and payment to contractors; You will be assisting with a whole spectrum of query resolution and liason in between to achieve the end result.

    Working from my clients busy finance department located in central Chelmsford, the opportunity for a full time Banking and Payment Controller has arisen through rapid expansion of our client base. Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for handling and processing a large turnover of cash into the business, and managing payments to contractors within defined parameters. Despite the volumes, this is a varied role and pivotal within the team, as you will be linking with and supporting the credit control and financial accounting functions, producing information used for targets, and managing client and contractor expectations through efficient, timely and accurate work.

    Additionally, you’ll administer and reconcile all cheque and payment transactions, resolve all related queries and corrections, produce reports, recover contra debt, issue refunds and provide support to the team.

    You will have/will be:
    Working towards a recognised accountancy or credit control qualification
    Experience in a busy accounting environment ideally within the insurance and building/repair industries.
    An eye for detail and excellent numeric skills.
    Confident but diplomatic communication.
    Able to strike good relationships with clients, contractors and internal employees.
    Good commercial awareness.
    Ability to prioritise and delivery under pressure to strict deadlines.
    Strong IT skills and system navigation
