The role: To develop HR strategies which support the achievement of business objectives, and promote a best practice approach to people management, taking into account changing legislation.
To maintain an approachable, sincere, and discrete attitude to all personnel issues, to support both managers and staff.
Management of polices and procedures pertaining to both Health & Safety and Management Systems.
The role will be comprised of 3 key elements:
Human Resoures:
Development of Company policies in line with Employment related issues.
Supporting Operational line managers in People related matters.
Attend and contribute to regular Operations, Improvement meetings
Ensuring all agreed actions allocated in meetings are followed up
Recruitment and selection of new employees
Overseeing the security vetting process of all company personnel
Maintenance and update of Induction, and performance review programs
Development of comprehensive employee training & development programme
Providing a facilitator support to staff and managers
Monitoring staff performance in specific areas – e.g. absence
Develop relationships with employees to understand needs and aspirations
Heading up staff consultative forum for exchange of information / ideas
Design of suitable employee reward schemes e.g. suggestions / recognition
Employee relations
Organising social events for staff with allocated budget.
Overseeing the maintenance of all employee records, both paper and electronic.:
Health & Safety
Health & Safety management of polices, procedures and training
Chairing quarterly Health &Safety committee meeting
Ensuring internal risk assessments carried out
Monitoring & reviewing all risks
Conducting accident investigations
Dealing with injury claims against
Management Systems
Continuous maintenance of company’s Management Systems
Provide guidance or training on company procedures
Supporting sales department with tender questionnaires
Reporting to managers on employee relations issues / legislation
Guidance or support to managers on people or system issues
Coaching managers where required
Providing information for Tenders on Equal Ops/H&S/Company policies etc.
Support managers in business plan or justification prepreations
Periodically attending departmental meetings to present new itiatives
Skills, knowledge, experience:
A candidate qualified to CIPD would be advantageous
Good working knowledge of ISO Quality managment systems
Up to date knowledge of employment legislation
