| Job Outline Handling a portfolio and administering client accounts relating mainly to Motor Fleet, Commercial Property & Liability, Commercial Motor and small packages. To provide a quality service to clients covering all aspects of their insurance arrangements; to advise, arrange and secure the appropriate cover at a competitive premium. Principle Objectives and Responsibilities including the following: Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients. Develop and maintain positive ongoing relationships with Insurers and Underwriters. To provide broking and administrative services to clients, confining advice and information to those areas in which you are knowledgeable and competent, otherwise seeking advice as appropriate. Take instructions relating to the provision of insurance cover from clients and Account Executives when appropriate. Give instructions to insurance providers. Check policy documents, (including endorsements) for accuracy prior to receipt by clients. Ensure that company procedures and systems are followed and reviewed. Handle the invoicing of premiums due, and to assist with effective credit control in respect of allocated Clients. Put up quotations both for new and renewal business, and to manage renewal process, placing cover on best terms where appropriate. Ensure that diary checks are maintained on [Mysis System] To ensure compliance with local procedures and external compliance regulations. To negotiate and achieve best claims settlements for clients. Processing correspondence, claims, invoicing, quotations and computer input. Obtaining quotations and arranging cover. Verifying documentation and endorsements. Preparation of renewal reports and new business quotations. To undertake training in line with agreed objectives and keep up-to-date with technical, legal and market developments. To undertake any other task as may reasonably be required by the Company. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES General Insurance Principles and Practices Understanding and application of common terminology and context in standard situations. Able provide explanations to customers Class of Risk and Product Knowledge Knowledge and understanding of product features, benefits, exclusions and warranties and application to various situations. Able to tailor product offering to customer needs and demands Legal Knowledge of fundamental legal and regulatory policy in relation to the insurance contract Risk Perception, Exposure and Underwriting Demonstrates an awareness of the concept of risk and the type of risk the customer poses to the underwriter. Awareness of authority limits and the purpose of these limits Capital and Insurer Financial Security Basic understanding of capital requirements and insurer ratings. Able to understand how this affects customer choice and Insurer selection Claims Understanding of claims principles and processes. Able to identify when policy cover is in force and provide support to claims operations |
