Location: Ipswich
Salary: GBP28,000 inc Shift Allowance
Production Technician
Skills and Experience required for the Role
€¢ To have completed a recognised Mechanical, Chemical or Polymer Engineering; qualification to HNC/HND Level or NVQ Level 3 or 4.
€¢ To have previous supervisory or team leader experience and/or a recognised qualification.
€¢ Previous proven experience of lean manufacturing and process improvement techniques.
€¢ Previous proven experience of production and manufacturing equipment and ancillaries.
€¢ An awareness of TPM and Preventative Maintenance Systems.
€¢ IT Literate with a minimum of 3 years experience and / or a recognised Qualification.
€¢ To be prepared to undertake further training as required
Job Purpose
To be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Foam Head/Unwinds /Ancillary Machinery within the Hennecke production area along with all relevant chemical delivery links to and from the Tank Farm, in accordance with the agreed Company standards and specifications in order to ensure the continuous, effective and efficient production of quality Celotex products.
Accountabilities
1. To safely and correctly operate the appropriate production machinery and ancillary equipment including performance monitoring and reporting any defects or problems immediately to the Manufacturing Manager, Team Leader or Maintenance Team.
To be responsible for advising the Manufacturing Manager and Production Planning Supervisor of any disruption to the production programme and timescales for resolution and assigning alternative duties to the Front End / Unwinds Shift Staff during periods of
downtime.
To ensure that the Manufacturing Manager, Quality Control Department and RandD Departments are kept fully informed of any quality related problems with regard to chemicals, raw materials or products and to liaise with them to ensure appropriate action
is taken swiftly and effectively.
To ensure that during production all parameters are met or exceeded without loss of quality or downtime and to ensure the downtime log is recorded accurately and on time.
To determine the correct chemicals and materials required for each production run and to inform the Manufacturing manager/Production Team Leader of any problems, issues or shortages and to ensure the appropriate action to resolve them is taken.
To be able to operate and troubleshoot all the production machinery and ancillary equipment within the production area and be aware of the different materials, specifications, supplier labelling, stock holes and stock rotation and ensure the safe and
correct handling of all equipment and materials at all times.
